I JUST PUT NEW PICTURES ON THE LINK BELOW MAKE SURE TO CHECK THEM OUT!!

WOW....it is almost NOVEMBER!

I can not believe that it is almost November! I feel like I have one been here for a few weeks! I have not written in a while because I have been very busy with school these past two weeks I have had mid-terms. There are not as hard as La Crosses, however, I still had a lot of work to do because I have not been keeping up! However, I think I did a great job and I am back on track now! Last night I went to Brisbane to see the Justin Timberlake concert. Most of you don't know who he is but he is a more Pop singer! It was great, we also got to explore Brisbane, which is the 3 or fourth largest city in AU. It is really starting to get sad because in all the stores they already have ALL there x-mas decorations up! They don't celebrate Halloween or thanksgiving like we do so they only have those decorations! It is so crazy seeing x-mas decorations when it is 90 out! It really is getting closer to summer here. Just like in WI, they are having MANY spring showers. More like torrential downfall though! The storms are VERY strong here! I have never ever seen lightning like this before! It is Quite a sight...I will have to take some pictures. This coming month I am going to be very busy! I am going to Sydney this coming weekend, then Morton Island, then hopefully the Whitsunday Island for a Sailing tour and then, hopefully, Melbourne which is another one of the larger cities in AU. So I am going to be very busy! It also means a lot more pictures to show! haha so look forward to that! I am also counting down the days for when my dad gets here! I can not wait to see him and to send 33 days traveling! It should be quite fun! Since I have blogged you last I have been very low key. We took another trip to Byron Bay which was very chill. We have been going there a lot because one of my girl friends is dating a guy from there! Crazy I know, but it is kinda fun because we have gotten to hang out with some "real" surfer guys! haha they sure are crazy! Other than that and the Brisbane trip I have been hanging out at Bond Uni!I am REALLY excited for my trip to Sydney this weekend it should be so fun! So I have something to admit to the people reading this blog.....I have become addicted to something since on the trip! Kebabs!!!!!!!! Oh my....they are sooo good. For those of you who done know they are kind of like gyros but way better. They are EVERYWHERE! Which is a bad thing because we eat them all the time and at any time! haha I usually get the chicken kebabs with garlic sauce! haha so my friends and I have been talking that I am going to have to open a Kebab shop in the states! Even a chain! haha It is going to be called.....Calbobs! haha or Kabobs by Calie....or Calie's Kabobs...you guys will have to pick the name! haha ok enough about the Kabobs it is making me want one! Well I should get to some homework since I am not going to be here at all this coming weekend....whooooo hooooo Sydney! I love all of you and hope the US is treating you well! I will try and post more pictures soon! xoxox

This past weekend was the first "trip" that I have taken while here in Aussie land. We went to byron Bay which is about an hour away from our campus. We went with a group called "mojo surf" It pretty much is a bunch of surfer guys teaching all us dumb Americans how to "rip it up". haha It was one of the best weekends I have had here! Byron bay is absolutely gorgeous! When the bus picked us up we were informed that we had to wake up at 7am to go surfing....then....(in aussie style) we went strait to the liquor store haha! We checked out the town for a little bit and then headed home for bed. Then at 7am we got up and went surfing! Wow is that a good workout! I did really well and the instructors let me use a hard board rather than a foam board which is what you use to learn on! So that was really cool! Most of the time we were just being pushed in by the white parts of the wave not the swell...but an instructor took me out to a deeper part and taught me how to "really" surf a wave! It was great! All aussies are just so laid back and nice! After surfing we headed back to out hostel and grabbed lunch. Then we explored all the shops that Byron bay had to offer! I felt like I was in Gordys Pro shop in many of them! haha Then we went back to our rooms and showered up for the night. The Rugby world cup is going on right now and the biggest game yet was on sat night and it was England vs. Australia! Wow was it an exciting game because there were both Aussie fans and England fans out at the bars watching it! England ended up winning which was a big upset for the Aussie fans. The next morning we woke up again and went surfing. The waves were much stronger and a lot harder to surf! But I still loved every second of it and boy am I sore! After we got back from "tearing it up" we went to the famous light house at byron bay! Here are a few pics of the light house and all of the views from it! It was AMAZING....this is also the eastern most point of Australia! So that was really cool. All in all it was a great weekend and we plan to go back really soon!

Starting to get used to everything!

hey everyone! Sorry it has taken me sooo long to put another post up! My computer crashed!! It was a big pain in the butt and I thought I was going to have to get a new computer! However, I just got a new hard drive so now I am back in business. These past few week have been really crazy. There always seems to be some type of party or place to be. I thought us Wisconsin college kids drank a lot...haha well Aussie are CRAZY! But, don't worry I am doing my fair share of studying! I only have classes on Mon., Tues. and Wed. It is really nice however I usually spend ALL of Sunday doing homework. School is very different around here too. There is a lot more focused on reading on your own and not as many assignments. I hope I can keep up. This past weekend was very low key. The campus was EMPTY and I guess that is how it is going to be every weekend here on out because everyone is traveling. It was very low key thought and I only went out one night. We went to Brisbane on Saturday for Queensland Roar professional soccer game. That was quite an experience! Soccer is not as big as Rugby is, however there were over 17,000 people in attendance at this game! It was great experiencing another type of sporting event other than baseball or football. Hopefully you can see some of the pictures that i took at the game! Other than that things have been pretty chill. It is a lot different not having a TV or anything like that. We have been going to the beach and pool a lot. We have an Olympic size pool and beach v-ball courts! Our recreation center is really cool. I am taking four classes; all of which I really like. I am taking two communications classes, which I am doing for credit. They are not as interesting as the other two classes that I am taking but expected that. I already have to give a presentation to my class this Wed.! It is me and another American boy (Who is ironically from Wisconsin and goes to Carthage college! Small world and I know his brother very well because he is on the UW-L water ski team) We are in a class full of Australian girls who are all very on top of there game. So I am a little nervous about that! I am sure it will be fine. The other two classes I am taking are a little more fun. One is Australian sports in the modern era. We learned how to play cricket during out last class. I have never seen or even know what cricket was....it is quite interesting. I will be teaching everyone when I get home! The last class that I am taking is Sports Management. This class I think will be a little more work than the Australian sports one however it is a VERY interesting class. The teacher is an Olympic medalist in the hammer.....which I have not clue so if anyone knows what that is would you please tell me. We are going to be taking different trips with this class and really learning a lot about Sports management in Australia! So I am very excited about that class and there are a lot of Australians in this class also, so hopefully I can get to know some. I am going to try and put up some of my pictures on here if I can figure it out! I love you and miss you all!
